In Robert Kubica’s home town today discussing IT operations & central role in business #F1 #Oper8IT
Plenty of grilling questions about Kubica's year with Williams. Pointed out what a mammoth achievement it has been for him to return to F1 after 8 years & the extent to which that should be recognised as success in itself. In response to heavy criticism of Williams, I explained
that the team realised the car was truly uncompetitive but that they do not go to work each day with the aim of doing a bad job or sabotaging Kubica - which seems to be a narrative some trolls have tried to push. Equally that no one would be more delighted than Williams to see
their car win, perhaps especially with Robert. Noted that George Russell is accused of being given preferential treatment, so I explained how teams do indeed have to decide where to try upgrades of to give preferential strategies when there is a choice much be made.
