Upon analysing all five major parties manifestos, The resolution foundation said:

‘The Liberal Democrats’ plan is similar to Labour’s, both in volume-of-spending terms and in many of the specific policies proposed... 2/3

..However, the Liberal Democrat offer is slightly more progressive than Labour’s, avoids further pensioner spending, and includes welcome improvements to Universal Credit for second earners and the self-employed.’
