The majority of international students are hard working and looking to build a new life for themselves in Canada. Often, their positive contributions are overlooked and the few bad apples are sensationalized. We must applaud and support the majority. Here are just a few examples:
1. This past week students organized, led and held prayers in places like Montreal, Thunder Bay, and Cape Breton to celebrate the 550th Gurpurb.

2. In Thunder Bay, students were the driving force in creating the first Guru Ghar there.
3. Students are engaged in many leadership roles within College campuses across Canada.

4. Many former students now have thriving careers in a number of fields.
5. International Students are involved in community outreach with Fraser Health Authority to volunteer as ambassadors in the SEHAT program or the Naloxone Training program for Opioid crisis.

6. Many of the key volunteers and leaders for Khalsa Aid Canada’s chapters are students.
7. A number of former students have led Khalsa Aid projects abroad.
Exploitation of international students is a big concern for Khalsa Aid and we continue to support groups such as One Voice Canada who provide the needed support and guidance.
