The Telecommunications Act of 1996 was signed to promote competition and reduce regulation in order to secure lower prices and higher quality service for consumers.
But what it actually did was allowed media companies to buy each other out and consolidate.
But what it actually did was allowed media companies to buy each other out and consolidate.
Which made for more concentration, less diversity and higher prices. It also left little room for differing viewpoints, honest debates or intellectual discussions about issues.
To put this into perspective, in 1950 the Media was owned by about 60 different companies....
Today they are owned by 5/6. That includes newspapers, radio stations and television channels.

With that in mind, you can see how easy it is to be fooled into believing something that is repeated by multiple news outlets, stations and channels day after day. If you hear something often enough, it becomes true. And if it’s true for me then it must be true for all, right?
And because the majority of the population believe what they repeatedly see, it creates a hive mind.
In fact, in history, the press has been used to manipulate the minds of the people to get them to do what [they] want.
In fact, in history, the press has been used to manipulate the minds of the people to get them to do what [they] want.
When asked how John Adams was able to rally the 13 colonies together during the revolutionary war he said the press “contributed to change the Temper and Views of The People and compose them into an independent Nation.”
Similarly, Napoleon Bonaparte called the press the “7th great power” and often used propaganda to boost his popularity...
So, Are we being controlled?
So, Are we being controlled?
Of course they don’t want you to feel that way, they want you to think you’re coming to these conclusions on your own. There are 100s of different sources to get your information from, right? But with just 5/6 co’s owning everything we watch and hear, it’s an easy question to ask
With many channels and outlets they introduce the illusion of choice...
“The illusion of choice is a psychological mental model that states humans are happy if they believe that have control over their own actions and can exercise free will.
“The illusion of choice is a psychological mental model that states humans are happy if they believe that have control over their own actions and can exercise free will.
If free will is deprived, or seemingly deprived, from an individual, he or she will become resentful or rebellious, even if the choice forced upon him is identical to the one he would have selected of his own accord.”
It’s said, “It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled."
For over 20 years we have been dumbed down and fooled, and have had propaganda shoved down our throats. We’ve been taught to accept what is unacceptable and to hate what is right and good.
We’ve been pit against each other for religious beliefs, race and political affiliation. All by the mainstream media. All because the Telecommunications Act of 1996 was signed by none other than Bill Clinton himself.
One might ask, Why? The easy answer is, control. They know distracted we won’t care to find out what is really going on. Most people are too busy watching Disney+ to inform themselves on the truth. And if they can’t distract us that way then they’ll make us fight each other.
They know if we argue each other we are too busy to fight them, because divided we are weak. When we are busy arguing each other we miss the decisions they are making for us, and become no threat to their control.
L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the church of Scientology said, “The only way you can control people is to lie to them. You can write that down in your book in great big letters. The only way you can control anybody is to lie to them.”
So, the next time you watch the news, ask yourself, what are they lying to me about today?
