i think u weouldnt need teachers n homeworj much if textbooks were written with a better pedagogy like more frequent "referring back" to previously covered material (theres a word for this but i forgot)
eg book like critiqu or pure reasn n capital which are big books not necessarliy bc they are packd with comprehensive things, but bc discoursive writing style and constant edifying reflections
insted wat we get r dry textbooks where each sentence offers new datum, without giving time (literally, in terms of pacing) to reflect
i think big long stretches of Reading Time abt the information but put in different contexts n prosaic structures makes the things easier to comprehend n remember and to ENJOY
being able to enjoy th knowledge is most important part ofc which is why textbooks are shit
