I& #39;ve always felt teams have room for a Gunner off the bench. Someone who can drop 20 on a random Wednesday night game in December. The problem is Ben is nowhere near his career average, and he is playing heavy rotation minutes.
There& #39;s a reason this team fell in love with Gerald Green, and it& #39;s not just because he& #39;s a vet and the Mayor of Houston. If he has the exact same impact but was a backup center, or a pass first point guard, I don& #39;t think it& #39;s the same.
Being a guy who can hit three 3& #39;s in a quarter and swing a game, maybe even hit a buzzer beater to win one every now and then. Just being a gunner as an 8th/9th man can give the team a lot of energy on random regular season games.
