Do any of my fellow Gen Xers remember being fingerprinted in elementary school as part of some so-called child safety program?

Wow, I didn’t expect this many responses. Sounds like my school was far from unique.

So now the obvious question is what happened to all those fingerprints of minors?

A couple of you mentioned that parents got the only copy. Are the others sitting in a database somewhere?

Does @ACLU have an official policy on schools fingerprinting minors?

All I’ve found so far is a couple of old news articles with ACLU being quoted.
