Minor CT rant. I've been driving 4WD rigs since I was 16. 30+ years of off-road, over-land with 100,000+ miles in all climates from sub-tropics to full Alpine winters. Don't know if that makes me an "expert or not", but I know more than many.
What happens when CT tries for water-crossing? What are your refuel options when the road or trail you are on is impassable and you need to back-track beyond normal range? How about recovery points? Real rigs are built on ladder frames for a reason.
Enormous force is applied to the recovery point, usually a hook or clevis, when a rig is pulling or being jerked free. Anyone wanna guess how that "stressed skin" design is going to hold up to a 20k lb snatch strap? How about torsional flex? The "useless" cab and bed design?
They are separate for a reason. Front and rear of vehicle need to be able to move in opposite directions for off-road. You gonna trust Dr. Whompy Wheel with the strength of his suspension? I could go on and on.
TL;DR: CT is for SV poser bros who take selfies w/ wheel on a curb.
