Monday thread! - Spurs ⚪️⚪️

Good Evening everyone! I hope you have had a good start to the week. The first article this week as voted by you is should we be buying into Spurs players under the new look Mourinho side!

As always, a new article every day!

When a new manager signs we often see a new manager bounce with players looking to impress so they get included in his thoughts and team selection. This is exactly what we saw from Spurs under Mourinho this weekend for the first 70 minutes before they crumbled against West Ham
The first area to look at is the attack.
Son = 9.6
Alli = 8.6
Kane = 10.8
Lucas =7.1

These are the four main attacking threats in the team and all offer different value

Dier at 4.9 could offer a strong bench fodder as he looks a very Mourinho player with some attacking thread
Kane at 10.8 has been discounted as an asset before due to his positioning and dropping too deep. Now we saw this again at the weekend it was not nearly to the same extent. Also he will be nailed as always to play every game.
Son is arguably the best Spurs asset with the highest potential of returns. With two goals and an assist in the past two gameweeks including one against Sheffield when Spurs were not performing, shows Son is definitely a hot prospect.
Alli is being called a Mourinho player, Mourinho’s project, and it seemed very clear at the weekend he was looking back to his best form as he picked up an assist. However, more noticeably was his positioning as he played almost as a second ST and further forward than Kane.
Finally is Lucas. cheapest asset out of them all and looks ready to fit back in the Spurs system with two wingers. He got back on the score sheet at the weekend from a low cross from Son. There is the most rotation risk with him although Mourinho notoriously sticks with one team.
Now on to the defence. In my opinion there are only two players to consider owning. Gazzaniga (4.5) in goal and Aurier (4.8) in defence.

However, they do not look overly solid at the back so far conceding twice to West Ham although this could take time under a new system.
Spurs have managed just 1 cleansheet so far this season and yes they now have a new manager but it will be the same players as playing in these games and it does not seem from heatmap a like the fullbacks will be any more defensive.

I personally will not be buying them.
Fixtures

Over the next few gameweeks Spurs have mediocre fixtures against teams who have shown both strong defensive and offensive form this season but nothing is certain. With these fixtures I would advise not going all in but it certainly is not an avoid.
Conclusions

Overall, I would advise strongly considering buying one of the Spurs attackers especially their midfield - Son if I had to pick one. However, however cheap they may seem I advise staying clear of the Spurs defence until we see they can concentrate for a full 90 mins
Thanks for reading ❤️
