Given Oxford's intense 8-week term,a 1.5 week-strike is a big loss. Yet, many students (including mine!) turned up in solidarity!

Lastly, strikes in Oxford are very different from the ones I'm used to in Kerala, or elsewhere in India. No creative/loud sloganeering, very staid banners and ā most amusing to me ā a 'picket supervisor' appointed by the Union!

On the bright/fun side, theĀ @ODID_QEHĀ bake saleĀ
I like the idea of a bake sale, where strikers (and supporters) contribute their labour power to bake goodies to be sold to raise funds for their Union. A part of these funds compensate wages to the lower-paid worker.
