Dearlove was head of MI6 between 1999 & 2004... That is, during the invasions of Afghanistan & Iraq. Here& #39;s what the US State Department had to say about the predicted consequences of the invasion of Iraq on British security: (next tweet)

“… [the invasion of Iraq] could bring a radicalization of British Muslims, the great majority of whom opposed the September 11 attacks but are increasingly restive about what they see as an anti-Islamic campaign.” https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu//NSAEBB/NSAEBB326/doc10.pdf">https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu//NSAEBB/N... #GeneralElection19 https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt=""> #JC4PM
An Ex-MI5 boss: “Our involvement in Iraq, for want of a better word, radicalised a whole generation of young people, some of them British citizens who saw our involvement in Iraq, on top of our involvement in Afghanistan, as being an attack on Islam”. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-10693001">https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-p...
Also: ‘…the Royal Institute of International Affairs... commonly known as Chatham House, concluded that Britain’s participation in the war in Iraq and as “pillion passenger” of American foreign policy had made it vulnerable to terrorist attack’.

I could go on & on here. You get the point. British military violence in Afghanistan & Iraq made Britain less safe (eg, 7/7). Yet, where were Dearlove& #39;s grave warnings about #TonyBlair? Dearlove *himself* bears responsibility for making Britain less safe.... And that& #39;s not all:
The MOD in their 2010 paper & #39;Future Character of Conflict& #39; state: ‘Within the UK, a changing demographic balance towards a more multi-ethnic society means that some conflicts will create risks, including extremism, within our own communities.’ https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/486301/20151210-Archived_DCDC_FCOC.pdf">https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/governmen...
The Ministry of Defence - *post Iraq* - acknowledge that British Military violence abroad makes the UK less safe. This isn& #39;t just about Iraq, as we& #39;ll see in Libya - another war based on lies ( https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201617/cmselect/cmfaff/119/11905.htm)">https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm2016... with dire consequences: https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm201617/cmselect/cmfaff/119/11903.htm">https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm2016...
David Cameron was PM when the UK and its NATO allies turned Libya into a failed state. Theresa May was Home Secretary. Why has Richard Dearlove not condemned either of these individuals as the proven security threat that they were?

No media outlet challenged Cameron on the UK& #39;s role in destroying Libya during the 2015 election coverage (instead, they cheerled the bombing), nor was Theresa May challenged on Libya/Salman Abedi during or after the 2017 GE, as @medialens noted: https://www.medialens.org/2017/blowback-manchester-and-the-libya-connection/">https://www.medialens.org/2017/blow...
What about Johnson? So far he has not been challenged on his own voting record during #GeneralElection2019 https://abs.twimg.com/hashflags... draggable="false" alt="">: & #39;Almost always voted for use of UK military forces in combat operations overseas& #39; #foreignpolicy">https://www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/10999/boris_johnson/uxbridge_and_south_ruislip/votes #foreignpolicy">https://www.theyworkforyou.com/mp/10999/... Dearlove hasn& #39;t warned against BJ, either, funnily enough.
By stark contrast, @jeremycorbyn has *consistently opposed* the very UK military action that *has* made UK less safe. JC is not a & #39;present danger to our country& #39;, but another Tory *is*. Both Dearlove & our corporate media are systemically & institutionally unable to report this.
