Politics and Youth in India.

A Sharad Pawar still wants to be CM. At his age.
An Uddhav Thackeray too.

One hasn’t allowed a successor to establish himself.
One wanted his inexperienced son to be his successor, but changed his mind soon enough.

Then there is the AIADMK. Left in the lurch because Amma couldn’t groom anyone to take over from her. Or perhaps, didn’t want to groom someone.

Ditto with DMK. Stalin has power and money but mass appeal, like his dad? Not really.
Then there is YSR’s son. Took over and won a thumping majority without being groomed as heir apparent.

Then there is Chandrababu Naidu. Who is also in the waiting room. But should something happen to him, who will take over TDP?
While I blame a (former) national party like @INCIndia for not having groomed and allowed young blood to take over, I see that most regional parties have the same affliction.

(I mean, I really thought that Scindia will be the CM of Rajasthan when they won a the majority).
But.

Power is everything. And no one wants to lose control.

Because then, someone from your party will do a Ajit Dada Pawar and steal your pawar.

Everyone wants to have the strings in their hands. Want to be movers and shakers till they die. Like Amma, Karunanidhi etc.
It’s a sad state of affairs because in a few years, India will have the world’s largest youth population that will be ruled by politicians who are way past their prime.

Don’t know how this will change. Or if it can ever change.
