I just couldn't help think how lucky I am & it brought me such joy.

BG ⬆️overnight-excitement. Let it be ⬆️ to avoid too much IOB at start. Only black coffee 5am. Sipped @nuunhydration throughout. 1 pack peanut butter 1/2 way w/ well matched insulin bolus (to keep BHB from going too high). No other carbs. In #ketosis whole event. No bonk! 2/4
Lessons learned: Even w T1DM (carrying emergency carbs) long distance endurance can be done in ketosis. Much better experience than in the past when carb dependent. T1DM LC learning curve! Eat small carbs & bolus insulin to keep BHB safe. Lots of Zone 2 training works well. 3/4
Lessons learned: I have lived through some very hard things in my life & struggled & been sad/angry. Life can be cruel. But living through is a gift. There can be very real, very deep joy on the other side. Joy in struggle. Joy in success. Joy after pain.

Oh yeah and my watch: @COROSGlobal which has the most awesome battery life ever! I haven’t even charged it yet since finishing and it only used about 10%!
