A thread: This whole local tourism is expensive in Livingstone is interesting. I honestly believe the town caters for everyone’s budgets. If you want cheap you can stay at Jollyboy’s backpackers or loads of other options on air bnb for cheap! Nothing glamorous but accom.
Medium range there’s Chanters Lodge, Maramba, Cafe Zambezi, Chrismar hotel & loads of apartments you can book too (which you won’t find on http://booking.com  btw) Try google to search for apartments. I’ve done it before & found places.
Upper medium range there’s David Livingstone which is stunning! I’ve personally stayed there K1800 per night. We called & got that price as residents. Worth it for a nice treat once in a while.
&of course if you can afford luxury, why not! But the prices on http://booking.com  are outdated. Yes those places are expensive but if you can’t afford it, pick elsewhere.Note that @TongabeziZambia have amazing local rates atm & @SiankabaIslands also do the same! Call & see.
So let’s not scare each other into thinking we can’t afford to see Zambia as locals. If you do your research, you’ll see the same. I manage to travel locally & it doesn’t break the bank unless I choose to spoil myself & go for premium options. Even then, I look for specials!
