They're not being taught "Chinese" (whatever that means), that's a martial arts class, but the impulsive urge to point that out and then shift the conversation to Western colonialism as being worse than Chinese is everything I hate about the First World Left. It's disgusting. https://twitter.com/parlabest/status/1197629283860131840
Stop taking credit for everything bad in the world (@ even non-white First World leftists), you're not doing us any fucking favours and it's counter-productive as fuck. There's nothing uniquely evil about European colonialism.
Let me put this in context: The Brahminical colonisers of India, for example, are far far far worse than any white coloniser.
There's no fucking reason for you to compare European colonialism as worse than any other colonialism and draw quantitative contrasts between each other. Whenever you find saying one instance of colonialism is worse than another, slap yourself and then ask yourself: to whom?
And this isn't even about minimising Chinese colonialism, it's about minimising the impact of any colonialism at all because for a virtually enslaved Bantu person or a Somali person of the Yibir caste or a Zarma person of the Horso slave caste in Niger OR for the Maccuɗo,
Rimmayɓe, Dimaajo castes of the Fula people in Western Africa OR for Dalit and Adivasi people in India, their oppressors in the various caste systems and other forms colonialism are just as much of a class enemy as any European/North American/Chinese coloniser.
Yeah, the debts the Europeans or the Han Chinese hold over these countries are huge and unfair, but you know what would happen to the marginalised people within the Global South if Britain gave back to India or Europe, NA, China have back to Africa? Nothing at all
Our oppressors would reap all the benefits just as they did under direct British colonialism.
