It matters to me that Bernie Sanders is 78 & has had a heart attack. The damage to the artery that got stents happened to all his other arteries, too, including those in his brain. I also care that his overweening ego won’t let him say he will support a non-Bernie nominee.

It matters to me that Joe Biden is 77, keeps flubbing facts, and can’t keep his feet out of his mouth, and that his main claim to eligibility seems to be that Obama chose him for his veep. He is too old, too tone deaf, and not agile enough anymore.

2/
Elizabeth Warren I’m just not sure enough about. I like that she has plans and will vote for her if she’s the nominee, but would rather have her running some other office. I admit that her age is right at the edge of what I think is acceptable.

It matters to me that Pete Buttigieg is asking Black folks to teach him how to talk to them. It’s on him to learn Black issues, not on them to teach; there are more than enough books out there. I do like his intelligence & ability to learn & think he’ll be formidable in time.

Tom Steyer & Michael Bloomberg enrage me. They could do so much good with their money—fight gerrymandering, promote voter registration, fund Emily’s list, produce ads on various issues, aid down ballot fights.

As it is, I have no use for either of them.

Deval Patrick can go jump in a lake. We don’t need him in this race; there is no reason for him in this race. Why he thinks he’s necessary, why he thinks he has a chance, why he’s bothering—I have no clue and no interest in finding out.

Ptooey.

Cory Booker annoyed me at first—too much talk of love & conciliatory kind of stuff. Screw that—this is an existential fight, not something that can be dealt with by active listening. I do really like the current combative, passionate Booker and would happily vote for him.

Kamala Harris is my first choice. Yes, she was a prosecutor, but I’m not anti-law enforcement. I’m anti-racism, anti-racist cops, anti-extrajudicial slaughter of Black & brown people, but not anti-law enforcement.

She’s intelligent, educated, experienced—all good things.

I also really like Julian Castro and would be happy to vote for him. I like his intelligence and experience, I like that he talks about mass incarceration and children’s issues, and I’d LOVE to see him as Harris’s veep.

It matters to me that Amy Klobuchar apparently has an explosive temper. I grew up around that and have c-PTSD from it. We need a president to whom staff feels comfortable bringing bad news, unexpected news, unwelcome news.

That said, I’d vote for her if I had to.

I like the labor and economic issues Andrew Yang has brought up and would like to see him as a presidential advisor on technology and such. Otherwise, he’s too tone-deaf on too many issues, too much of a one-trick pony.

11/
I like Michael Bennet and would love to see him as Sec’y of the Interior. He would probably be a good president but I admit to just not wanting another white man in the job. Not when we have so many other perspectives available.

Not going to say anything about Tulsi Gabbard because I don’t want to go to Twitmo.

Just. . .grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Everyone else, MEH.
