Good thread but this point especially is important. Querying is hard & you might think getting rep& #39;d will solve everything, but signing with an agent before you& #39;re really ready could be terrible for both your career and your growth as a writer. 1/4 https://twitter.com/JessicaOlson123/status/1198382115932512256">https://twitter.com/JessicaOl...
Think back to your 1st (probably bad) MS & imagine an agent signing you for it. Congrats! But then you might think that& #39;s as good as you need to be. Seasoned writers know they always need to be leveling up, but as a newbie who& #39;s never had to shelve an MS 2/4
You don& #39;t know this. You crushed it on the 1st go! Now you& #39;re less likely to push yourself, to examine your own work and try to improve, to figure out why something does or doesn& #39;t work which could seriously stall your growth & keep you from writing something better next. 3/4
It& #39;s hard, but better to land an agent when you& #39;ve been around the block a few times (with different MSs or even one if you& #39;ve revised the living hell out of it multiple times) than on your first go when you& #39;ve still so much to learn. 4/4 #pubtip
