Thread: Ok #YangGang—we’re nearing the point where more Americans actually start paying attention to the election and narrow down who they might vote for. Many of our IRL friends/acquaintances are probably in this category.

For this reason, I want to talk about Facebook.

1/
I know, I know. Facebook sucks and many in the #YangGang don’t use it for perfectly good reasons. But anyone with a profile and some friends can move the needle by posting as much Yang content as they’re comfortable with.

2/
A point @AndrewYang made during his #yangapalooza after-party speech stuck with me—he told us that “people listen to people.” He was trying to encourage us to Yang our friends and acquaintances because he knows the #YangGang’s passion is our secret sauce—and it’s contagious. 3/
I’ve had multiple people tell me that my passion for Yang’s campaign alone was what intrigued them enough to look into him. And we all know what happens when people actually do look into @AndrewYang—they get Yang’d.

Be proud of your support for Yang and put it on display.

I’m guilty of using the snobby term, “normie” sometimes. For these purposes let me define Normie as a person who doesn’t live and die with the Yang campaign and probably isn’t on twitter at all. They go to work, come home and watch some TV, scroll Facebook and go to bed.

5/
Facebook is where most “normie” Americans are, and we need them if we want to win, period. We obviously dominate twitter (literally had the #1 trend on planet earth the other day) but this only does so much. 214 million Americans use Facebook. 68 million use Twitter.

6/
Yes you might annoy a few folks by posting political stuff on FB but so what? Some dude you haven’t thought about since 2007 rolls his eyes at you trying to save America? You’ll both live. And it’s worth it because every FB post you make is planting seeds. I promise.

7/
When you demonstrate passionate support for Yang, people notice and will turn the volume up next time he’s on TV or talking at the debate. People are attracted and intrigued by passion and thats what we have. If you’re usually apolitical, you’re an even more intriguing case.

8/
Since I began posting about Yang on FB in February, many of my friends have been Yang’d or are at least Yang curious. Sometimes my posts flop and get like 2 likes but I don’t care because I know people are seeing it and seeds are being planted.

9/
I know this is a pretty random thread but we are the social media campaign and we need to fully leverage our strengths and optimize our ability to reach voters. Facebook is Iowa to Twitter’s California. Every FB post you’re brave enough to make about Yang is worth more.

10/
The key on FB is getting people’s attention. Memes, graphics and screenshots do this exceptionally well. Articles are okay, but let’s cater to America’s deteriorating attention span and focus on memes. I am gonna post some of my favorite things below. Please save/use.
