This is a very wrong analysis. We played 4-1-4-1. One midfielder [Fred] and Lingard held back a little. This was a risk it all or nothing by Ole. It worked by giving us 2 goals but we were unstable. The change was to make us more stable not defensive. Greenwood was the striker. https://twitter.com/unitedstandmufc/status/1198694314379010048
Rashford interchanged with greenwood when greenwood was out of position. The 5 minutes after the 3rd goal we barely had chances. From 80-85 min, we had 2 counters that led to nothing, we weren’t going to get another goal.
84’ min Sheffield changed shape looking to over whelm Fred with a 2v1. Ole knew we were unstable with Fred alone in midfield that’s why Tuanzebe was coming on. It wasn’t a defensive tactic. In fact had not done that, we would have conceded faster with Sheffield’s changed tactics.
Lastly, with 5mins to go, it is reasonable to try to see out a game. Specially, when your midfield consists of a center back and a guy who has not scored or assisted in a year. #MUFC
