I was asked today "what would make me a believer in #Bitcoin again?"

Thought I'd share my answer here too if anyone's interested:

If BTC actually has a huge network upgrade and can be used effectively as a currency (cheap, fast, large bandwidth and simple to use as a CC) as it was originally intended. And no, LN is flawed and centralized af so it defeats the original ideals, right?

Realistically, it's hard for me to ever get behind it fully because it'll never become the global currency that everyone jerks off to at night. I've said it a million times, govs are all creating their own digital fiat which 99% of people will use because it'll be...

...exactly that: fast, free and easy to use. There will be no incentive for the general public to use BTC.

I do believe blockchain tech has a future but it'll be improved to be faster with larger bandwidth and most likely centralized for individual companies within niche industries like supply chains for location tracking and validation of product authenticity.

Another area I think crypto would be useful would be to hide money transfers via truly private currencies since digital gov fiat will expose EVERYTHING we do at all times. "Under the table" transactions will need to be done in a new electronic and untraceable way like this.

But again, it would only make up a very small market which the govs will try to use their power to prevent the usage of.
