Right here's my thoughts on #waroftheworlds part 2.

Essentially my quarrel with part 1 was an odd pace and an overall sense of "what are they gonna do with the future?"

Here in Part 2 we are given an idea of what the future bits will amount too, but still nothing important happened in them. Just more killing of the pace

I mean I love Robert Carlyle though so having him in it helped. And I am still hopeful that it amounts to something memorable in part 3, Harness giving the book ending more oomph and consequence.

Rupert Graves got a lot more to do and that bit where he forced Amy onto...

The boat was actually decently emotional. Eleanor is still amazing as Amy and Rafe is just sorta... there, as George.

And Nicholas Le Prevost (I swear there's a "Le" in his name right or have I made that up?) Is one of my favourite actors for playing a character part...

So him as the Minister acting all that irony I found absolutely enjoyable.

Other than that all I have to talk about are the Tripods.

I was looking forward to getting more of the Tripods. And we did.

But I can't help but feel like it was slightly lacking.

Dont get me wrong I absolutely loved what we got. The bit on the beach was fab. But you know, 2 Tripods and a few boats... I wanted more.

Once again the heat ray was the highlight oddly. I loved the image of corpses catching alight in a swamp, and then the flames....

Extinguishing as they fell into watery graves.

But again I can't help but feel more could've been put into that sequence.

And the slow mo is seriously bugging me now.

I wouldn't like to say I'm dissapointed. Because I am enjoying.

But it just feels to me... don't quite know how to put it really. Just beneath excellence.

And the pace of those future bits seriously feel to be screwing it up.

But I am glad we got some really good bits. Seriously the black fog darkening the tunnel was pretty beautiful.

And I am eager to see where we are going with the red weed. Even if it has been my main problem here, it's one of my favourite images in the book and to see it...

Get explored more is intriguing me. But I can't help but feel I'll be even more dissapointed in part 3....

Oh well. Onwards and upwards.

Oh and that music I was liking was non existent this week

And as a final note please don't whinge that this is inaccurate to the book. Because it really is accurate!

It's literally just added a much needed female voice, and tagged a future sequence on the end. (And keeps cutting to it in the middle much to my annoyance)

Oh and Sunday night being drama night works for me. Hope this keeps up.

Oh oh and the shot of the Martians coming for the earth, cutting to a red Earth! I looooved that.
