So we’re entering the end game, when the Tories achieve a majority & take us out of the EU by the end of 2020 with no deal or such a shitty deal that it may as well be no deal. Then they’ll continue their bonfire of red tape, having been given the nod & the wink by the electorate

that Grenfell didn’t matter after all; those type of people don’t matter to the great Daily Mail & Sun reading super-minority. How did we come to this point, when Labour is effectively hamstrung by an inept and Europhobic leader to the extent that it can’t put up a decent fight

against the most inept, corrupt, elitist government we’ve seen since the war? Where did it all start to go wrong? Some will go back to Iraq, & that certainly undermined Blair’s credibility & authority, within Labour & the country. But Blair went on to win 2 more elections.

It all started to go wrong when Blair stood aside and the senior people in Labour allowed Brown to become leader, despite knowing to a man and woman that he was temperamentally unsuited to the job. And so it came to pass that Brown allowed himself to be frightened out of calling

an early election, which he probably would have won, & into a torrid couple of years on the back foot in the face of the advance of “Dave” Cameron’s seemingly modernised Tory Party. Then that election, which exposed Brown’s weaknesses horribly & let the Tories back in.

Cameron, arrogant and inept, thought he was master of his party, that he could put the Europe issue to bed with a simple referendum, but we soon learned (even if he didn’t - he’s still an arrogant twat) that he wasn’t nearly as good as he thought he was. The far right scented

blood, & with every concession & capitulation they’ve become bolder & more assertive. Now the ERG is in control and we’re heading for Singapore in the North Sea. I would like to think the polls are wrong, but they’re not 20 points wrong, and the Tories won’t fuck it up this time

not with the help of their friends in the print & broadcast media, Facebook dirty tricks and likely Russian interference. I’d like to be optimistic, but I really think we’re fucked and I can’t see a way back from here. Happy Sunday!
