It strikes me that latent in the right wing argument that & #39;providing welfare makes people lazy& #39; is a eugenic argument. Because none of those people say, & #39;allowing the rich to hand their wealth to their children makes those baby plutes lazy.& #39;
The key is in the phrase & #39;job creator& #39; (as opposed to calling workers & #39;wealth creators& #39;). & #39;Job creator& #39; implies that there is something about a certain kind of person that imbues them with the will and intellect to & #39;create jobs& #39;
So the workers who do the jobs are otherwise liable to starve, and they owe everything to the & #39;job creator& #39;.& #39;
Once you accept that the human race can be eugenically divided into job creators and drones, then it makes perfect sense that you shouldn& #39;t give the drones life& #39;s necessities, lest they fail to realize the & #39;job creators& #39;& #39; dreams
Meanwhile, the offspring of & #39;job creators& #39; inherit the genetic basis for creating jobs, so allowing the children of the rich to inherit such that they need never lift a finger is fine, because they don& #39;t respond to incentives the way that the poors do
It& #39;s telling that the right calls the providers (or inheritors!) of capital & #39;makers& #39; while the people who work that capital to produce wealth are dismissed as & #39;takers& #39;
