Here comes a thread.

If I explain why I don't support Hong Kong protestors, dropping links from an NGO like Amnesty International isn't about to change my mind.

I will drop these points again and let you decide where you stand:
-The unrest in HK began when mainland China proposed an extradition bill so they could help a grieving family find a sense of justice after a man murdered his pregnant girlfriend and stuffed her body in a suitcase in Taiwan.
-Citizens of Hong Kong have legitimate grievances, but they're due to the separate capitalist economy which has kept many in poverty and homeless.
-"Pro-democracy" rioters have killed people, have been throwing Molotov cocktails & shooting flaming arrows at police. They also wave US & British flags, signs with Pepe, a fascist icon, while wearing MAGA hats. They target anyone speaking Mandarin & refer to mainlanders as rats.
-The US supports their riots because they want capitalism to remain in HK & want to continue demonizing China because they don't want the competition when it comes to the economy, trade & the potential to defend themselves & other nations if/when the US attacks them.
Contrast the US support for these protestors with the silence on how Bolivians are being murdered for standing up against a coup led by fascists similar to Guiado in Venezuela, as well as with how the US continues to sanction Venezuela (& any country wanting to trade with them).
Never disregard class character & ideology. This is going to be your biggest helper when it comes to determining whether or not you should show solidarity. For example, did you support the Nazis rallying in Charlottesville, their violence & the death caused by someone driving
into the antifascists counterprotesting? Think about how other governments could have portrayed those fascists as "pro-democracy" protestors. Would you believe that unquestioningly?
