Was unable to watch Barça live b/c sometimes it's wise to do what she wants. After checking twitter I expected a shit show, but that wasn't the case. Piqué overslept and the final 1/3 wasn't sharp but it wasn't as bad as some made it out to be. I stand by, 'if not Valverde, who.'
And while the #ValverdeOut crowd lament him not "playing the kids," he continues to give Fati mins w/ the stars back healthy. I refuse to believe Aleña is better than Rakitic and Vidal ain't Xavi but he ain't Paulinho either. He's an excellent option off the bench.
Considering Dembélé's injuries, alleged behavior issues and undeniable talent, I think Valverde has manged the situation w/o ostracizing him or inflating his ego. Only Messi can question Piqué's priorities, and might need to do so, but Valverde isn't to blame for that.
I think the main reason Barça hasn't met certain culés quality expectations is b/c it's the 3rd midfield in 3 years and this group still hasn't found its groove. Enrique's treble winners were hardly exceptional until everything clicked around February.
I still think this team has the ability to get where it needs to go. And b/c of parody in La Liga and the lack of a super team in Europe, every title remains within reach. Don't fool yourselves, there is no super team in Europe.
City is flawed. Munich, PSG and Juve are all beatable. The LFC myth, propagated by Barça shitting the bed and beating *checks notes* fucking Tottenham, also has its flaws. Any of those teams + Atleti and Madrid could win CL. I'll roll w/ Barça. #thatsall
