The Second Intifada saw a bloody wave of suicide bombings within a span of 5 years which was extremely traumatic for Israelis.
This list details the attempted bombings that took place in Israel from September 2000 - December 2005.

The Gaza pullout didn’t happen until August of 2005 and the first segment of the barrier in Judea and Samaria wasn’t completed until July 2003. The data was compiled on January 2006 by the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center.
I’m making this to try and give those that didn’t have to experience this horror a better idea of the frequency that these terror attacks occurred. People don’t seem to understand how bad and often it was and the effect it had.

On October 26 2000, a 24 year old resident of Seja’iya Jedida in Gaza blew himself up near an IDF post by Gush Katif. It was timed for the 5th anniversary of the death of the founder of the organization.

On November 6 2000, a 27 year old resident of Shati refugee camp in Gaza blew himself up on a boat after being spotted by an Israeli patrol boat near Rafah about 1.5km from the shore.

On December 15 2000, a 22 year old resident of Shati refugee camp in Gaza tried to go through a metal detector at Erez crossing. When it beeped he attempted to detonate the vest, but it failed. He then tried to stab the nearest soldier and got shot.

On January 1 2001, a 23 year old resident of Nablus blew himself up in a car full of explosives on Herzl street in Netanya.

On March 1 2001, a resident of Siris, south of Jenin, took a taxi travelling north from Tel Aviv to Tiberias with an explosive device in a bag. When stopped by an unexpected police roadblock he detonated the explosive.

It was found he was responsible for 2 other incidents in Tel Aviv:
- the day before he had left a bomb which was found by police and safely detonated.
- on December 21 2000 he stabbed an Israeli in the Carmel market

On March 27 2001, a 20 year old resident of Al-Bireh, near Ramallah, blew himself up next to a number 6 bus at the French Hill junction in Jerusalem.

A note found among the papers of Al-Tadhamun “charitable society,” refers to the death of the suicide bomber, whose family was supposed to receive money from the Saddam Hussein régime in Iraq.

On June 17 2001, a 23 year old resident of Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza approached a roadblock at the entrance to the village of Dahaniya riding a wagon full of explosives pulled by a donkey.

When he tried to detonate it only part of it exploded which threw him off the wagon. He tried to escape on foot and was shot then detained by the IDF. During interrogation he admitted to receiving 2,500 NIS (about $600) for the attempted attack.

On July 11 2001, a 17 year old high school student and resident of Jenin was headed towards Afula carrying a bag of explosives. He aroused the suspicion of a police officer in Afula and tried to activate the charge but was unsuccessful.

He became afraid which aroused the driver’s suspicion and alerted 2 border guards he had picked up en route who overcame the bomber and defused the detonator on the belt.

On February 17 2002, two 18 and 22 year old residents of Nablus and Jaiyus (north of Qalqilya) were in a Mazda stopped near an IDF base by Pardes Hana. A passing patrol car became suspicious and was met with gun fire.

On February 18 2002, a 34 year old resident of Beit Sahour (near Bethlehem) parked his Peugeot 205 which was full of explosives at the side of the road from Ma’ale Adumim to Jerusalem.

A police patrol car became suspicious of the parked car and when they saw the driver start to distance himself from it they went to investigate. When one of the policemen got out the bomber dove into the car and detonated the explosives.

On March 7 2002, a 21 year old resident of Jabel Muqabbar entered Cafe Kapit on the corner of Emek Rafa’im and Hania street in Jerusalem carrying a bag with explosives. Wires could be seen coming out of the bag.
