I'm not saying you have to play them in order, but I am saying that if you really enjoyed pathologic 2... ice pick lodge has made other games that are good
so... as a little freak that watches and plays old stuff often, there genuinely is culture shock experiencing both the paradigms, values, and limitations that old media contains and displays. this is often (maybe not exclusively) what we gamers call jank
buried in that expression I think is a refusal to engage or consider the context old games necessarily /are/ and really there's a myriad of reasons for that...
but pertinently, you know, this is an industry where the most prominent manufacturers want you to spend hundreds of dollars on upgraded technology every 3-5 years, lol
