the idea that anyone cares what people are writing so long as it's tagged appropriately is WILD
sometimes people write fucked up fanfiction idk what to tell you man
sometimes people write PROBLEMATIC CONTENT that you PERSONALLY DO NOT LIKE or even content that society has agreed is An Issue! however comma you do not have the context from a goddamn fanfiction account to go forth and Cancel!
some people use fucked up shit to cope! some people are just curious with exploring dark and awful themes in a space that is not....charging anyone for money, not trying to influence anyone, not profiting off the work
some people are turned on by things that are objectively bad and disgusting and ALSO have the self awareness, knowledge, and appropriate like, sense of horror that would come with the idea of doing that to an actual real life person
that's why it's a FANTASY that's why people use FICTIONAL CHARACTERS to explore that space, that's why it's tagged and not profited from and not spread about as propaganda for 'this is how the world should be'
if you are upset that an author, eight years ago, wrote something that you find upsetting or horrifying, do not read her books. don't put on some 'concerned tone' about how much of a problem she is as a HUMAN BEING and how therefore all of her output is now Problematic
