A few months ago, I wanted to compare MCPS boundaries from the 1990s to now. I did some digging at MCPS central office, and here you go!

On the left are the high school boundaries from the 1990s and on the right is the current boundaries (with capacity shown for emphasis) (1/5)
You'll notice a lot of interesting details, namely:

- Wootton, Churchill, RM, WJ, Whitman, Rockville, and BCC's boundaries are almost, if not entirely identical despite nearly 30 years passing.
- The entire DCC is significantly overcrowded. (2/5)
In the time between these two maps, MCPS did the following:

- Re-opened Northwood
- Built Northwest and Blake High Schools

So we opened three new high schools but didn't shift the boundaries of SEVEN high schools? (3/5)
Einstein's line between BCC and WJ has remained the same for nearly 30 years.

Wheaton's line between WJ has remained the same for nearly 30 years.

RM's dividing line between WJ and Churchill has remained the same for nearly 30 years.

Are you seeing a pattern here? (4/5)
Our school boundaries can't be stagnant for THIS long without serious repercussions for teachers, students, and families.

George H.W Bush isn't president, a lot has changed in 30 years.

We need the boundary analysis. This is poor management of our school system, period. (5/5)
