Really excited for this next session (and my last one at #NCTE19). I& #39;ve followed these folks on Twitter or Instagram for so long and they& #39;ve informed my knowledge of #antiracism during a critical period of my own learning.
@britthawthorne_ is starting the session. I loved her #FailureFriday series on Instagram. First bomb she drops is "convenience and nostalgia are two of the most dangerous ideas in education".
Next is the amazing @tiffanymjewell. Love that she is highlighting Dr. Barbara J. Love and liberatory consciousness https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πŸ’–" title="Sparkling heart" aria-label="Emoji: Sparkling heart">
@juliaerin80 is next up and blowing me out of my seat. "Do your actions work to liberate students or to make them dependent on you?"

*Just because we are teaching students to read, doesn& #39;t mean we& #39;ve given them a reading identity*
Get on the wave with @PresidentPat! Love that he ended his time with a call to care for ourselves. "Sustainability is more than just a day off...it needs to be baked into our activism."
And I cannot leave out (sorry had to rush home and charge my phone https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ" title="Woman facepalming (light skin tone)" aria-label="Emoji: Woman facepalming (light skin tone)">) that @nenagerman closed us out by sharing a beautiful piece of poetry she had written and calling us to the work of #antiracism. So grateful to the five presenters for this space https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πŸ™" title="Person with folded hands" aria-label="Emoji: Person with folded hands">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="❀" title="Red heart" aria-label="Emoji: Red heart">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="πŸ€—" title="Hugging face" aria-label="Emoji: Hugging face">
