Really excited for this next session (and my last one at #NCTE19). I've followed these folks on Twitter or Instagram for so long and they've informed my knowledge of #antiracism during a critical period of my own learning.
@britthawthorne_ is starting the session. I loved her #FailureFriday series on Instagram. First bomb she drops is "convenience and nostalgia are two of the most dangerous ideas in education".
Next is the amazing @tiffanymjewell. Love that she is highlighting Dr. Barbara J. Love and liberatory consciousness

@juliaerin80 is next up and blowing me out of my seat. "Do your actions work to liberate students or to make them dependent on you?"
*Just because we are teaching students to read, doesn't mean we've given them a reading identity*

Get on the wave with @PresidentPat! Love that he ended his time with a call to care for ourselves. "Sustainability is more than just a day off...it needs to be baked into our activism."
And I cannot leave out (sorry had to rush home and charge my phone
) that @nenagerman closed us out by sharing a beautiful piece of poetry she had written and calling us to the work of #antiracism. So grateful to the five presenters for this space
