Asking companies, that are pretty much monopolizing the social discourse, to clean up their act as they& #39;ve been profiting to the tune of billions from the spread of pernicious hate, is not some scary, end of free speech, move. 1/ https://twitter.com/BretWeinstein/status/1197944469749821440">https://twitter.com/BretWeins...
It is far scarier to realize that a few billionaires are mobilizing how we think, vote, & consume our information. This is true online and in astroturf NGOs, social justice movements, and political campaigns.
Vast majority of our information is funneled through the very few.

One simple example: Rockefeller Brothers fund, sponsors over 50 groups who self identify as grass roots. There is no such thing anymore and you& #39;re an absolute naive sucker if you think it does. https://www.ngo-monitor.org/funder/rockefeller_brothers_fund/">https://www.ngo-monitor.org/funder/ro...
As for who is to decide what is real and what is not. What we consume and what we shouldn& #39;t. We can go round in circles forever but we have every right to demand that something is done and to be shut down under the free speech claim, without being taken seriously.
I& #39;m sick and tired of the same people who want to have uncomfortable conversations, never actually have it. Never challenge the status quo of "absolute speech". Never once investigate the consequences of unlimited free and open platforms on our politics, and social milieu.
Waxing poetic on the same stance over & over is getting boring & lazy. We are living through an administration that came to power in no small part due to misinformation.
Are we actually sitting in a burning room saying, this is fine?
Slippery slope excuses is reality, not theory.
