With all the unbelievably insane rhetoric and rationales flowing from a particular US political party, I’m almost ready to consider the possibility of new tech weaponry being in play to some degree. Possibly a version of what was used against our diplomats in Cuba recently.

Not that it would be an excuse for their absolutely unacceptable behavior, but the complete lack of shame and inability to forecast outcomes on this scale simply has not been seen before.

If a technology existed which can be silently targeted at individuals, via something like sim card tracking, and had the effect of causing mental instabilities over time, the most strategic use would be targeting a few...

...wealthy and/or politically influential individuals who already exhibit some amount of corruptability or harmful mentalities. Amplifying something which already exists. The increasingly unstable actions and opinions of those people would then flow downhill to subordinates.

As the subordinates are unaware that an outside influence is contributing to their superior’s increasing instability, the subordinate follows in the slow spiraling out of control and becomes enmeshed and stuck supporting the wrongful acts.
