We remain keen to negotiate!/1
We're seeing some VCs start to shift, voicing discomfort with how UCEA ( #Fourfights) + UUK ( #USS) are behaving. Our pressure is working! #UCUstrike pressure must be maintained *across the board* to maximise effectiveness. These are collective, UK level disputes. We're a team! /2
VCs calling for a new approach + *meaningful* negotiations (eg Forster) are welcome. Even branches where VCs are 'friendly' still need to take action + hold the line - decisions about when to suspend/end the disputes can only be taken collectively by the membership. #UCUstrike /3
It's vital we're clear + spread the word about @UCU's Fighting Fund, which prioritises members in precarious + vulnerable situations. Many branches are also setting up local hardship funds to complement it. It's our job to support everyone eligible to take #UCUstrike action /4
