Time for me to go on a little Twitter rant about my position on the Labour/Lib Dem fighting...

I am here to promote Remain; news, updates, stats, facts, opinions. I have shared content from every pro-Remain party, including Labour (despite stating they are not a Remain party) /1
I also share content highlighting the madness of Leave, typically from Cons and Brexit Party.

In the run up to the election, I was transparent and said I'm a LD member but would be supporting the Remain cause. I continue to do that.

This is why I now show anti-Tory content. /2
However, since the election was called, I've noticed thousands of Remainers ditching the Remain cause to only pledge allegiance to the Labour Party - and then attack everyone else.

As the Lib Dems are their biggest competition, they have taken the brunt of it, despite... /3
...the fact that the LDs have worked with Greens, Plaid Cymru, Anna Soubry and independent Dom Grieve, while Labour have refused to work with anyone. Not one out of 650 seats.

Who gets the shit for this lack of Lab-LD partnership? The Lib Dems.

How does that make sense? /4
While I don't personally support Labour, I would absolutely back it (or any other Remain party) if it was my best chance at ousting a Tory.

But it seems most Labour voters on here aren't interested in a tactical vote alliance, they just want to convert everyone into Labour. /5
This is evident by senior Labour figures, including Andrew Adonis, repeatedly attacking the LDs rather than the Tories.

The second the LDs retaliate, Labour are using it as a "see, they're all Yellow Tories who hate Labour" and "Vote Lib Dem, get Tory!" /6
The Lib Dems have been hit from both sides, Labour and Cons, because most of their defectors went to the LDs, whether that be members, voters or MPs in the last parliament.

LD became a legit threat to the 2-horse race, so became target no.1 to push them back. /7
Does this mean I'm ignoring the poor record under the coalition? No. But I also understand context;

1) It ended 4 years ago, pre-Brexit
2) The coalition was not 50/50
3) It followed immediately after the 2008 recession, so economic cuts had to be made.

Does this also mean... /8
...that we should constantly drag up Labour's previous poor record? Should we plaster "WHO INVADED IRAQ? LABOUR!" everywhere?

No.

Because these are all in the past and parties voting should be done based on the recent and the future. /9
There is no reason why Labour and Lib Dem can't work together, but the fact is that LD have repeatedly tried to do this, and Labour refused every single time.

LD have stood down in seats to support Remainers. Labour haven't stood down in any. Not one out of 650 seats. /10
If Labour activists and supporters on here stopped trying to convert Lib Dem remainers into Labour voters, and put that effort into attacking the Cons, we can get them out.

Labour would likely have the majority. LD would back the 2nd ref. Both would be happy. /11
But if staunch Labour voters keep attacking Lib Dems, they are doing the dirty work for Tories.

Many Tories have switched to LD.
They will never vote Labour.
Don't make them switch back.

I will defend LD from this hate, because I'm here to defend Remain, as I always have. /END
