I originally rted this w/out comment, but while i agree with most of this thread, I find it necessary to point out some disagreements

- capitalism isn't "all pervading", it's a complex system consisting of various interlocking, competing, and overlapping hierarchies/interests https://twitter.com/gwensnyderPHL/status/1197278857864318976
... which do NOT necessarily extend into literally everything one does

- commodities are not the lynchpin of capitalism

- i find it ironic that a marxist is saying transactional relationships aren't necessarily bad (may have misinterpreted this, not sure if snyder is a Marxist)
- people with "marxist spectacles" have a long history of ignoring labor that isnt the labor of the male industrial proletariat or sometimes peasantry (see marx expelling feminists from the 1st int, lots of other things)
(again, not sure if she's a Marxist)
otherwise this is a great thread that does a good job of deconstructing this whole mess, as well as pointing out how some people consistently devalue certain forms of labor, essentially turning into emotional parasites
