The World Chess Federation #FIDE has started a campaign on the occasion of the Summer #Olympics 2024 in Paris 2 promote the inclusion of chess. Prerequisites for admission: On the one hand, the sport must have a tradition in France and on the other, it must appeal to young ppl.

A legal opinion commissioned by the German Olympic Sports Federation now rejects such recognition as a sport. The document states that the term "sport" has been concretized "by many years of jurisprudence in the traditional sense of the requirements of physicality".
The Olympic Committee should be open to the interests of young people. The world does not stand still, it always goes ahead.
