Let& #39;s talk about security clearances for just a minute.
Those of us who have been through the exhaustive process know what it entails.
You complete a lengthy application where you list even the most slight of transgressions youv& #39;e ever committed in your life.
AND YOU BETTER LIST THEM ALL!
This is the first step of the process as well as the first test of your integrity. If you intentionally omit even what you consider to be the most insignificant detail, you fail.
Next up is your first interview.
This is usually when you& #39;ll meet the FBI agent who& #39;ll be completing your packet.
He/She will go over questions from your application, ask about friends, co-workers, & family members, prior jobs, former employers, etc..
This is an informal interview to put you at ease with the process. Next up, the agent will conduct an exhaustive audit of your online presence which includes your social media profiles, email correspondence, credit reports and any other available public record information.
This goes on without your knowledge and you will never know what, if anything is found. Just go ahead and assume the FBI & whichever agency you& #39;re needing a clearance for know all about your foot fetish now.

Depending on the clearance level you require, this may be the end of
the process. For some lucky folks, the visits to family, friends, co-workers, former employers, & teachers begin. I ran into my fifth grade teacher about 3 years ago and she told me she received a call and later a visit at the elementary school to discuss my behavior, grades,
attendance, and social standing as a child. Crazy right? Once every i has been dotted and every t has been crossed, you will complete your second and usually final interview.
The whole process takes anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months depending on your required clearance
level and the amount of potentially disqualifying information they find.

Now that I& #39;ve enlightened you to the process that we endure to serve in a sensitive capacity, I& #39;d like to pose a very important question that no-one seems to be asking.
How is it possible that we have so many foreign-born individuals working in sensitive government positions?

What sort of background investigation process are they subjected to?

How in the hell to we even begin to properly vet immigrants from former soviet-bloc countries, some
of which that don& #39;t even exist anymore?

How about China?

With all the news of spies within our government, State Department employees actively subverting the foreign policy goals of our President, and high-ranking members of our own military proudly dislaying their
questionable loyalties, whose brilliant idea was it to give these people the keys to the kingdom?

Under whose authority was our national security compromised in such a manner?

I want answers.
I want accountability.
I& #39;m not alone either.
