"Turkey day" almost sounds as if it’s a celebration of turkeys but it would be more accurate to call it “45 Million Turkeys Get Murdered Day.” On a holiday that is about giving thanks and being grateful, we should be celebrating life, not taking it. https://www.onegreenplanet.org/animalsandnature/reasons-to-love-turkeys/
In natural conditions, turkey hens are devoted mothers who care diligently for their babies. At factory farms:

-Workers kick, stomp, drag and throw turkeys.

-Baby birds are ground up alive.

-Turkeys have their toes and beaks cut or burned off without painkillers.

-If injured they're left to suffer and die without care. http://www.butterballabuse.com/
