christmas is pretty much right around the corner, so like, i think this is a fairly good time

even if you're friends with an artist, or they do a lot of giftart for you, please don't expect or think you're entitled to art from em just cos it's an holiday about giving gifts
reasons for this:
-maybe they already do a lot of giftart
-they're not a machine
-they have their own lives
-maybe they wanna do giftart but are worried about leaivng out peeps because christmas is hard
-maybe they're low energy
if a friend of yours *does* end up doing some giftart, but forgets you, don't get upset

they're human
maybe they have limited energy
it doesn't mean they dislike you or don't care about you
this also applies to birthdays, or whatnot

you are! not! entitled! to! free! art! just! because! you're! friends! with! an! artist!!!!!!!!!!

regardless of if it's your birthday, or it's christmas, or they're doing an free raffle, or whatnot, that's all on their free time!
the only time you ARE entitled to art is when you actually pay them what it is worth (i.e. prices they set), and even then it's still a service, so be good about commissioning them.
that's all i can think of to say, feel free to add on if y'have any other insight!
