Today, Russian hacker Aleksei Burkov pleaded not guilty of operating two hacking forums.

@VickerySec told @jeffstone500 of @CyberScoopNews "he found the same database, which also contained voter information, such as party affiliations and whether an individual voted in recent elections." /4
@VickerySec "traced the database to a religious group, UiP, dedicated to electing conservative politicians. When Vickery went public w/ his findings in 2015, the US Secret Service contacted him to say the info might be relevant to an ongoing investigation into a foreign nat'l."/5

Here, I preserved McEwen's response to me on 8/20/19 in which he falsely claimed that UiP's leak was merely "public" information. That was a lie.

What many of you don't know is that, before Cambridge Analytica was all the rage, United in Purpose offered "psychographic analysis" of populations it was researching as far back as 2013. /8

The psychographic analysis component of UiP's services would derive from UiP Education director George Barna of @BarnaGroup.
George has been talking about psychographics as far back as 1997 and Barna Group has been including pscyhographics in its analyses as recently as 2016. /9

Now, I don't believe UiP's psychographic data would've been nearly as extensive as Cambridge Analytica's, but we know from @VickerySec's discovery UiP was tracking info in search of "particular" voters:

And, when you think back to who Paul Manafort suggested Trump nominate as his Vice President, who did he recommend?
None other than Mike Pence, who would appeal *exactly* to this type of Christian and/or evangelical voter. /12

When it comes to a data breach such as the one @VickerySec found, there's always the possibility to consider that the leak was "intentional."
If so, did anyone at United in Purpose (or its data firm Pioneer Solutions) play a part in the breach, and who? /15

One possibility that would come to mind is the tech guy behind UiP, Tamas Cser.
