Last night I witnessed a very strange interaction between this boy and girl in front of chipotle. The girl was actively trying to force herself into moving traffic and the guy was holding her back. Now upon first impression i assumed she was drunk and he

was holding her back. but when the light turned red for us to cross the street, i soon realized she was very much sober. i think the weirdest part of the entire interaction was that no words were being spoken between them. not once did she say “leave me alone” not once did he say

“stop”. at this point, i’m talking with a friend i know and we’re both like what the hell is going on. so i get out my phone, take a few pics but i only get the back of their outfits. i continue to follow them to see if they are potentially howard students, and I watched them

go into the west towers. so atp i’m like okay that was really weird not sure what to do, so i got to my room in east, change my clothes and head back out to speak with the RAs in west. when i got there, the RA shift that the guy and girl walked in on was over so a whole new set

of RAs were there. i told them the situation, they told me i’m definitely not tripping and i feel it’s necessary i should tell hupd but they felt that hupd would not do anything- they wasn’t lying. So atp is 9pm, i had a 9:30 meeting so i decided to use the time to find hupd

rather than call them. the first police i encountered was an actually dc metropolitan police woman. so i told her what happened just how i told y’all, she said she can’t do anything bc 1) idk who they are 2) one of them would have to file a report. but she did drive off to see if

she could see anything suspicious in the area. so atp i’m like bet let me find hupd so they can actually look at the cameras. i found a guy not even two minutes later, told him everything i saw. he gave me a number to call, told me to ask for INVESTIGATOR KING bc he has access to

all the cameras. i’m like okay, so i as i walk to my meeting i call this investigator king, i tell him the story just as i’ve told everyone else and the first thing he says to me is “ma’am, what do you want me to do about it”

i’m was literally so shocked y’all... so i’m like investigator king, i would like you to take the pictures i have, look at the west towers cameras, find the young lady who was CLEARLY in duress and do a damn wellness check! he’s like, “ma’am why didn’t you say something when it

happened”, i reply to him “investigator king, to be honest with you, howard university has never prepared any of its students with proper steps to take when they witness something like this and clearly the steps that i think i should be taking isn’t right because you’re not

helping at all” so he like “okay i understand what i need you to do is call campus police and file an incident report” atp i’m FED up bc i was JUST told by the hupd man i saw that INVESTIGATOR KING is the ONLY one with access to cameras so TF is an incident report gonna help with

so he says after the incident report is filed it goes to their higher up and they can look at the west towers camera, so i hang up because the man aint helping and it’s bout time for my meeting. the friend i said i was with earlier that also witnessed it picks up where i left off

so she calls campus 12, speaks with a Sargent Brown, tell him the story just as i’ve told y’all and everyone else! first thing he says is “ok you just told me a lot of nothing” .... WHAT .....

so she gets to asking him exactly what’s steps a howard student is supposed to take if they witness a situation like this, and he like “well first they call us, then hopefully we can do something about it”.. hopefully? it really is so crazy that there is no protocol in place

that campus 12 must follow. and in the midst of an alarming rate of sex trafficking in the DC area especially, i would expect them to be on their toes trying to make sure this young lady is OK! and all we were asking for is a wellness check, is that so far out your

responsibilities and pay grade?? i didn’t even tell y’all the worst thing investigator king said he talking bout “idk who told you to call me but i’m off the clock right now” SIR EXCUSE ME!?!?

whether the young lady is a victim of sex trafficking or domestic abuse or simply having relationship issues and being “dramatic”, the way she was trying to FORCE herself into moving traffic??? is cause for concern and she deserves a wellness check at the least.

@HowardPolice y’all should really be tired of not doing what your paid to do. people call y’all out on it and still nothing gets done

the stories over but i really hope y’all can just be aware of your surroundings speak up when you see some weird shit going down, it’s not the time to keep quiet fr!
