Anyways

I had a talk with an organizing buddy of mine and challenged the effectiveness of organizing considering how things have changed over the years and the toxic shit I see all the time.

And know what I’ve come to conclude?
I feel like the mere existence of an organization and branding efforts impede the original mission from the jump.

We can organize autonomously.
Bc watching how groups of like minded folks become orgs and brand themselves, then work for monetary support, then for political support...it always gets into the capitalist and political arenas. It’s like a feedback loop. The system absorbs you back into the game.
Something about that branding sets a self destruct timer and next thing you know power dynamics come into play and hoarding resources.

Maybe this is just human nature - but I don’t necessarily believe that.
Like why can’t we create revolutionary movements and execute transformative actions while remaining autonomous and free? You’re still organizing, just without the branding and political backing.
It’s just a thought.

But it always works like this.

Organize ➡️brand ➡️political affiliations➡️monetary support to startup➡️more branding ➡️selling brand➡️ sell tf out
There are some really great organizational efforts out there that can make a change - but over time they get usurped and transform into this sef serving conquest.

And isn’t that part of the cycle of genocide? To assimilate us back into their systems? It’s so easy.
I never needed an org to find the motivation to mobilize. I only ever needed to find like minded people who want to create a change. You don’t need branding for that, not unless you’re trying to sell an idea.

I ain’t selling shit. There is no price on liberation.
This and the track records of orgs I’ve been apart of are why I’m so deeply distrusting of social justice orgs. Half of them ain’t really about it.
