One day I want to talk about the ways flight attendants handle food and drink on airplanes and how our food safety rating would be a grade F-
Yesterday my back galley floor was so sticky with grime my shoes were coming off. I SWEAR
Food wise if you’re in economy you don’t have to worry. Your food is packaged from kitchen to your mouth. It’s the first class meals y’all need to worry about!
99% of your FAs aren’t washing their hands enough. Hands should be washed right before handling food and after. And between picking up discarded food items and serving new ones they should be washed too. And just PERIOD bc airplanes are GROSS
When I’m first class galley I try to be as clean as possible. I wipe everything down with antibacterial wipes and hot towels. And I wear gloves when I’m fixing y’all food.
I once saw a lady accidentally throw away some veggies meant to be on a plate and get them out the trash and put them back on the plate because “the trash is still clean bc nothing else is in it”. I said “THATS DISGUSTING. ABSOLUTELY NOT”
I’m really bringing this up right now bc I’m TIGHT af on this trip and I’m the economy galley person and every time I set up the ice bucket lines with plastic liners (they GIVE THEM TO US) this man keeps removing them and dumping the ice directly into the nasty plastic buckets
I’m not confident that these buckets get washed. If they did the company wouldn’t be so pressed to give us LINERS for the buckets. They’re not handled well enough to be serving ice directly out of them!!! It’s gross!
I really want to bring this topic up in one of our employee groups because I want to lightly drag and shame some ppl for the nasty shit they do
And again y’all should always be traveling with wet wipes bc your tray tables never get wiped down and wipe your seats off if they’re leather as well as your armrests and seat buckles. Stay safe!
