A VP of the AMS recently published a piece in the Notices decrying the use of Statements of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion in hiring processes.

Though diversity is important, apparently it’s onerous & unfair to ask candidates how they work & plan to work towards this goal. (2/4)

In the same issue of the Notices, an article appeared about efforts by math graduate students to promote diversity and inclusion within their departments through organizing seminars series related to these areas.
