I am getting a little bit sick of cis people complaining about how Hard it is to stand up for trans rights, and how much of a Bother it is, and how much Hate they get for it and I would just like you to imagine for just a second that you didn't have a sodding choice.
So many cis people keep silent about trans rights because there are obsessive transphobes who will come at you like an unhinged whirlwind of hatred the second you open your mouth, but if you're trans you don't have a choice, you get that anyway, no matter what you do.
It'd be nice if people, especially those in the public eye, put the pr considerations aside, and explicitly stated they support trans rights.

It's not a 'contentious subject', it's acknowledging that a group of people deserve the same dignity and respect as everyone else.
Perhaps, if you support trans rights you'll get some hate for opposing hatred - is that not an acknowledgement that it's the right thing to do?

And is it not good that you take this round, this once, and give trans people who've been getting it for years a moment of peace?
This isn't a theoretical debate and it shouldn't be a difficult decision.

We all deserve to be treated with the same dignity, respect, and protections, whether we are cis or trans.

Either you stand with us, or by your silence, you make space for hatred to speak without reproof.
Each person that stands up and says that hatred and bigotry are unacceptable empowers others to do so.

Each voice that is raised in support and kindness combats those raised in cruelty.

When the fight is for fundamental rights and acceptance, every piece of support matters.
Cis people, do your bit, please.

Support trans people and their rights whenever and wherever you can.

Our lives have become a battleground, and we are tired of war.
