Steven's got an amalgam of issues and he's got so many moments in the show that gives him a reason to either work himself to forgettin/making up for them, and not tell anybody. And a lot of the hints are in s4. This is a thread.
The zoo arc starting with steven's dream really establishes the only time he got angry and defensive of his negative feelings. He got shut down and looking for answers caused him to almost 1st lose his family & then his friends, when aquamarine came. He explicitly blames himself
There are a couple of moments in the show where steven also doesn't know his strength and breaks something - in gem harvest he had a seemingly isolated moment of callousness and he seemed terrifying to the characters around him (pumpkin carving). Cont.
In zoltron him breaking something caused him to be put into a job that made up for the damage he caused (helping people) but that ultimately he wanted to be rid of - but he is still roped into it by smiley at the end of the episode. That ep was right after mindful education.
I think thats what steven is going to have to deal with - he wants to have his freedom and happiness back from the job that takes and takes and just helping others isn't enough to keep his past or hope for the future going. He doesn't want to do the job he feels he was made to do
but not by his mom, but by progress: he seems to be the only one capable of his job because of his heritance and his veto power over the diamonds. He has barely time to think about what he wants because it seems like it doesn't matter. The past and people from it keep him busy
and hurting. So frybo, future boy zoltron and gem harvest are super important episodes for the future, as was all of s4. Thanks for coming to my twit talk.
Obvs none of this is steven's fault. he feels guilty so he bottles up or distracts himself from his anger, sadness and hopelessness for his future. I think he's resigned himself at the end of the movie to work himself to his grave as a gem ambassador and getting hurt by it.
