When growing your audience? Sure, maybe it helps. But think about who you want your fans to be. Maybe it doesn’t matter to most, but it does to me.

Taking a stand against things is how you make change. There are a ton of things that are wrong in the world and I want them to change. The best thing I can do, probably in my entire life, is use my platform to do that. 5/X
Some see it as complaining, I see it as actually giving a shit about other people. I tweet and rt outrage almost daily, yet the vast majority of people see my presence as spreading positivity.

Me: Who is in office has never affected my life.
It was true, and that’s who I was. I didn’t care about the well-being of anyone but myself. The thought didn’t even cross my mind that people were suffering.

Take care of yourself before others. You can’t help anyone if you’re a wreck. But dismissing them isn’t right either. And if you’re as fortunate as I am? I recommending finding a way to give back. It’s the most rewarding stuff I’ve ever done. Cannot recommend higher. 12/X

Again, place of privilege: I know where my next meal is coming from, I have people that care about me, etc. There is mental energy and bandwidth I can afford to spend time on this stuff.
But holy shit is it worth it.
