I want to clear something up after another nutrition professional suggested I shouldn& #39;t mix my appearance with my science (not a weight comment)
A) I dress like this because it brings me & others joy. I& #39;m just living my best Ms Frizzle Life.

B) I mix personal (my outfits & earrings) & professional (science, science communication & nutrition) on here because scientists are people to.
C) For #WomenInSTEM we are often expected to conform to certain stereotypes, it& #39;s important to me to show girls/women they can be them

D) If one person who wouldn& #39;t have engaged with a scientist normally does because my outfits make me more approachable, or they come for the fashion, stay for the facts. Then I& #39;m happy.
I considered sharing their message, but I blocked them and don& #39;t want to start a pile on. If you don& #39;t like me, my outfits or my methods fine, but don& #39;t critique them out of a "concern for science" I can definitely pipette and do stats in this dress.
& I will say. Trolls commenting on my weight is like water off a ducks back, but a fellow professional saying I "link my fashion" to my degrees & qualifications and that makes a mockery of the profession does hurt. How have I done that other than a cheeky selfie with my diplomas?
