No matter where you live in Alabama, you should be able to access quality, affordable healthcare. On #NationalRuralHealthDay, we're taking a minute to talk about why Doug is working hard to improve rural healthcare in our state.
Over 80% of Alabama's counties are mostly rural, and as folks who live there know, accessing healthcare is a constant challenge.
Since 2011 alone, seven rural hospitals in our state have closed. Areas like the Black Belt face health issues linked to sanitation, and our mothers and babies have some of the nation's worst health outcomes.
