THREAD: Having owned an electric car for two months now, these are my experiences: Contrary to the common believe, it is NOT the purported scarcity of charge points or available models on the market that is the greatest barrier of EV adoption in Germany and other countries…
…It is the ignorance/unawareness of what EVs really are and how they work - probably the result of years of disinformation and misleading reports in the media. Why do I say that? Because these are the most common reactions I typically get:…

"Oh, it's electric? Don't you run out of juice all the time? 😉" (Reality: You never run "out of juice").

"How long does it take to charge?" (Reality: "I don't know, it doesn't matter, it's fully charged when you get in.")

"How and where can you charge this thing?" (Reality: All it takes is a regular electric outlet).

"Aren't those cars dangerous?... I heard they burst into flames a lot" (Reality: 🤦‍♂️)

"I thought electric cars are slow and boring" (Reality: 😎)

"Nice, but the future will be hydrogen cars" (Reality: No way, it's called "fool cell" for a reason).

"Aren't these cars bad for the environment?" (Reality: Yes, all cars are "bad" for the environment, but EVs are better for the climate, they are sustainable, cleaner…
…and more environmentally friendly than traditional ICE cars and any other drive train technology in the foreseeable future).

I believe if we just got rid of all these misconceptions, EV adoption would be progressing at a much faster rate than it is today.
